Whatever Happened To...

Kevin McReynolds?

Nice to see from the photo at right that the former Padre and Met has found a sport that could match his boundless enthusiasm and energy.

But I've gotta ask...whose closet did Mac steal that sweater from?

Lou Carnesseca?

Theo Huxtable?

My grandma?

Tuesday: Pedro Martinez (12-3, 2.81 ERA) vs. Chan Ho Park (8-5, 5.84 ERA)
Wednesday: Kris Benson (7-4, 3.72 ERA) vs. Brian Lawrence (6-11, 4.43 ERA)
Thursday: To be announced vs. Woody Williams (5-8, 5.16 ERA)

Whether Tom Glavine starts on Thursday or later, he will be pitching on extra rest which he does not prefer. Glavine has had 7 starts with extra rest (more than four days) this season, and he's 3-2 with a 4.60 ERA. That includes one horrid start against Philly (7 earned runs in 3 and 2/3 innings), two great starts against the Giants and Braves where he gave up one run in each start while going at least 7 innings, and his last start where he went 8 innings to rest a tired bullpen. Compare that with Glavine's season stats of 8-9 with a 4.50 ERA, and you surmise that even though Glavine prefers normal rest, the stats don't bear out that he's that much worse with extra rest.

Thursday is Steve Trachsel's start day at Norfolk, so it is possible that Jae Seo will make Thursday's start so Trachsel can move right in to that slot next week.

Cliff Floyd is eight for 21 with four home runs lifetime against the newest Padre, Chan Ho Park. Floyd is 7 for 18 with two HR's against Woody Williams, and three for six with one HR off of Brian Lawrence.

Ryan Klesko is 10 for 29 with four HR's against Pedro Martinez in his career.
