Because I'm Willing To Try Anything

Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

You all remember the black cat indicent when the Cubs were in town in 1969, no?

Well with the Cubs coming to town at 54-54, same as the Mets, there's no better time than right now to attempt a last ditch effort at a run to the playoffs.

What I am going to try is in the same vain as The Curly Shuffle, the Rally Monkey, and Kevin Millar. And you'll need to visit this site often during the game if for no other reason than good mojo.

I introduce to you, the new Metstradamus mascot:

Meet Sweepea.

Call it the return of the old fashioned good luck charm...an ode to 1969, and a reminder to Cubs fans that Steve Bartman, much like Savoir Faire, is everywhere.

And shouldn't someone who has a 15th century monacre, and fancies himself a fortune teller who dabbles in the realm of the "other world", have a black cat close by his side? Gargamel had Azrael, so why not?

Who knows? If the Mets do use this Cubs series as a springboard for better things, she may get her own website one day...a spinoff, if you will.

Is Mike Piazza a burden?

***

Kaz Matsui to the Twins?

***

And is Gary Sheffield a true Yankee?

I do not make money from this website. And neither will you. A pox on you and your game.

I've got an all-black cat, too. His name is Tug, after McGraw, of course. A double dose of black cat jinxes might do the trick!

Mr. Met ... that quip is a t-shirt waiting to happen! Pitch it to the suits on Roosevelt Ave!

I've seen the suits they sell on Roosevelt Avenue...I wouldn't be caught dead in plaid and mustard, thank you.
