It Is Now Safe To Trade With Tampa Bay

Looking for a job?

Send your resumes to Stuart Sternberg c/o the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He's looking for a few people.

(Who needs monster.com when you have Metstradamus?)

Chuck Lamar, assistant GM Scott Proefrock, and player personnel director Cam Bonifay are all gone.

The best news out of this whole debacle for the 5,000 dedicated Devil Rays fans who show up every night is that next season...parking is free. That's right...free parking at the Trop for 2006. Like playing in someone's driveway.
"We will ask not what you can do for the Devil Rays, we will ask what the Devil Rays can do for you."-Stuart Sternberg
Well what you can do for the Mets is give up Danys Baez for a reasonable price, that's a good start!

The Padres' playoff hopes rest on Pedro Astacio today.

Remember the mediocre Pedro Astacio from 2002.

Remember the injury prone Pedro Astacio from 2003.

Now repeat:

The Padres playoff hopes rest on Pedro Astacio today.

From my friends at Ducksnorts:

Astacio's record vs. current members of the Cardinals: 203 ab's, .335 average against, .378 OBP, .571 slugging. Yikes.

But check out Mark Mulder's record vs. current members of the Padres:

84 ab's, .393 average against, .458 OBP, .581 slugging.

However, when I look out on the mound today, I'll still see Pedro Astacio. And I see another Cardinals win...10-8. Enjoy the game.

I don't think the Mets will ever admit they made a mistake.

And I think he might start the season with them...at least spring training. But as long as the Mets are loaded with starters, and as long as there are baseball teams that are thin on starters, there's always a chance he'll be gone. Maybe back to Tampa for...

never mind.
