Or can we?

I was flipping between the Mets and The Bad News Bears on Showtime last night. Couldn't really tell the difference.

This is becoming a major choke job. No other way to explain 10 errors except that they're playing tight.

I'm afraid to tune in tonight.

Hope Randolph has friends at YES because if the Mets choke this away and sit home in October, he deserves to be shit canned. They are a rudderless, unfocused collection of clowns right now.

I say we should all just recall the horrific swoon the Cardinals experienced at the tail end of last season and pray history repeats itself...

I pulled my back the other day and the doctor gave me some FLEXERIL. This muscle relaxant might just keep our infielders loose. I wonder if it's a drug MLB tests for??? BTW, tatching them is real bad if you have heart or back issues!

Pretty rough stuff folks. You can add the Tigers experience to the Cards last year....teams that struggled down the stretch and made the World Series. I recall the Mets had a bit of a September swoon last year but were too far ahead for it to make any difference. Despite all your negativity, if the Mets take the division, its a clean slate come October and Phillies may not even be there.

On the other side of it, how exciting is MLB with these tight division and wild card races. There is no argument for those who opposed the wild card a decade ago...aside from the fact that they can't make the 1st series a best of seven to reward high seeds, its been a complete success. Lastly, history is on tap again as no team has led its division by September 12th and blown it (Mets) and the Sox may relive the 1978 disaster by blowing a 14 1/2 game lead to the Yankees. Who said history doesn't repeat itself?

Lets see how the Mets react if the Phillies tighten the noose to 1 1/2 games tonight.
