Tips For Your Upcoming Visit To The Ballgame

You should know that after today's 5-4 victory, the Mets have announced some changes for the upcoming Mets home trip, in response to their recently completed 9-1 roadstand:

  • The Mets will wear their road grays for the duration of the home trip.
  • The Orioles and Reds will be awarded last licks.
  • Boog's BBQ will be available by the center field apple for the duration of the home trip. Dodger Dogs will also be available.
  • For those attending games on this home trip, please be aware of the maintenance work being done in and around the stadium. To make your experience feel more like a road game, the escalators and sound system will actually work.
  • Please do not wait outside players' homes for autographs...they will not be there. Mets players will be staying in a remote hotel somewhere on the Jersey side of the Holland Tunnel.
  • Please take some time to visit the new swimming pool just beyond the right field bullpen.
  • Saturday is Anna Benson Figurine night at the stadium.
  • Fans are encouraged to arrive at the stadium in time for the bottom of the third inning. And be sure to leave early to beat traffic. The New York Mets appreciate your patronage and support.

LOL, I'm not pissing off any baseball gods (or fellow Met fans) with that one.

But right now, it's 88. Tigers and Cardinals are next lowest at 95.

The Mets need a full house tonight. Anyone who can....get to Shea and give these guys a hero's welcome. They deserve it!

How about some love for the photoshopping. MD is what they refer to as, "the complete package".

Great Post! Making it feel more like a road game should help Beltran as well. I am interested to see how Soler does tonight.

This is a teaching blog...

Magic Number:

Number of Mets victories and Phillies (or whomever is in second place at that moment) losses which would require the Mets to clinch the division championship.

88 is the magic number right now, so any combination of 88 Mets wins and Phillies losses would equal a division championship for 2006.

Fans don't start usually talk about magic numbers until about 30 or so. But with the wide margin now, people are starting to talk about it. In 1986, when the Mets basically had the division clinched by the middle of June, the Post counted down the Magic number from about 100 on down with a cartoon of manager Davey Johnson pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

And that is your old person perspective of the day.

P.S. The foxsports.com standings actually include magic numbers.

The Magic Numbers are also a happy-go-lucky musical quartet comprised of two married couples.

er... sibling couples.

I've heard in some places that's the same thing.

Sorry, that was just too easy.

the reason why the mets lost yesterday was not just heilman ( though we hate him since May 23rd, it was that Metstradamus actually wrote that Oriole Park was the name of their stadium when it is Camden Yards

Dumbass!

Kyle in Newport News said...

Actually, anonymous, it's Oriole Park AT Camden Yards.

Dumbass! :P

I love how only the anonymouses are brave enough to call people dumbasses.

The internet makes a lot of people brave.
