Don't Worry, Lightning Never Strikes Twice...Er, Three, Er...Aah, Forget It!
Three pitches...
Three homers...
One stunned blogger.
I'm lost. I can't even fathom this right now. Three home runs on three straight John Maine pitches to the 7-8-9 hitters in the order?
On a team that came into the game second to last in all of baseball in home runs?
And the pitcher flips his bat after the third home run without eating the batters box in his next at-bat? Oh, and let me reiterate that the last time this guy hit a home run was high school.
High school?
The same pitcher that now has two career wins, and both against the Mets?
Dae Sung Kuo against the rest of the league, Hong Chih Kuofax against the Mets. Phenomenal.
It's gotten so bad that Hilary Swank doesn't want to be seen in her Mets hat anymore, as she was during Monday's game. Perhaps she used it to wipe Alyssa Milano's blood off the floor after a particularly heated Mets/Dodgers argument. Now that would be a more anticipated matchup than Jorge Sosa vs. Brad Penny.
But here's the good news, the Mets are on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. At this point, what's left to jinx?

Forget the clippers, whose first in line for a shave?
Aside from the lightning issue, we're not gonna win too many games with an offensive output of 1 run with 5 hits.
When were we last on SI?
Last sept comes to mind, as does Piazza in 2000.
John, aaaaarrrghhhhh! You might enjoy reading some of our comments at FU or Coop's at My Summer Family.... lol. Pleae feel free to add yours....
This team is dead, expired, or as Monty Python said about the parrot, "has ceased to exist," lol. If they don't get their collective asses in gear soon, they are going to find themselves on the outside looking in.
They are behaving like BPs, and if you don't know what BPs are, check out FU and My Summer Family!
C'mon, Hillary takes Alyssa anywhere any day, KO 30 seconds of the first round
Tickets to yesterday's Mets-Dodgers game: $80.00 for the Pavilion seats
amount of "Dodger Dogs" eaten: 14 between the 2 of us
amount of beer: none since it is like the Bleachers at Yankee
Time to get there and get pumped for the game: one hour and fifteen minutes.
Time it took to realize that the game is over: approx. 8 minutes....
Very painful to watch on TV, extremely sickening when you are in a sea of Dodger Blue wearing a Black Mets Jersey......
What a meek offensive display. Beltran looks like he's sick or something. Can't figure him out.
Can we put Lo Duca back in the two slot please?
It may be high time to trade for a corner outfielder. They need more pop in the middle of that lineup.
Let's not throw the team under the bus like a bunch of Tom Coughlins. Let's not make panic moves--they rarely pay off. It's a long stretch, and stuff happens. I've done plenty of complaining about Omar's off-season moves on this blog, but we still have the talent to rebound. However, I do have one pet peeve: G. Mota, HGH. He should never have been re-signed; since his return--after the great 12th inning win vs. SF--the team has hit the current roadblock.
LET'S GO METS!
Hey, isn't about time everyone shaved their heads again?
Hong-Chih Kuofax. Classic.
One more thing....
Why didn't John Maine throw at Kuo after that "flip" of the bat? Who the F**k does he think he is, Barry Bonds? Lo Duca should have told Maine to drill him...it would have been well deserved....
