Carlos Power Trumps Hoffpauir

It's a simple rule I have for baseball games (especially baseball games during the final week of the season):

If I'm going to catch pneumonia watching baseball during a nor'easter, my team had better win.

Despite the efforts of future hall of famer Micah Hoffpauir (from my seats tonight I kept asking Hoffpauir if I could deliver his induction speech), that rule was adhered to, thanks to ... Ramon Martinez, Robinson Cancel, and Ryan Church??!? I guess if you played that trifecta, you'd be able to retire on your winnings.

So with apologies to Jon Stewart, Here now: Your moment of Zen:

Good luck Milwaukee ... Micah's your problem now.

Your footage MD? Looks like you had good seats . . . or at least moved down to good seats during the game.

No way they play tonight. Looks like a DH tomorrow. . .

We keep losing the games we're supposed to win... then winning the games we're supposed to lose.

I'm going to eat nothing but fried fish all weekend. Hope the Mets do the same.

Micah shouldn't be on the hate list; we need him this weekend.

I resorted to calling him FOR-MICAH every time he was up.

(i know... i am a couple days late here) i dont know how i missed that post about the crazy lady, but i was at that game too...

not only that, I was the first person she had beef with and I saw the whole thing unfold.

During the rain delay she came charging by me yelling that her friend had to pee and if i didnt move she was gonna piss all over my feet. We laughed.

then she came tearing back by and when she pushed some dude out of the way, he made some yankee fan crack and she went off. yelling that her friend was a little girl and how he should be ashamed for making fun of her...

bitch was crazy.

she started to hit the guy, he had no idea what to do... just started backing away.

cops tried to calm her down and let her walk, then she got into it with another guy 20 feet away.

then they dragged her away.

i think she hit some 14 year old girl in the head and made her bleed...

and i love/hate/lovehate baseball right now.

Unser,

For the record, those were my seats. Fourth row just outside the infield/outfield cutout. Early birthday present.

And on the weather: If they played through last night, they'll play tonight and all weekend. I think these teams will do whatever they can to play the scheduled games at the scheduled times, even if there has to be some delays.

The forecast was just as dire last night as it was tonight, and they played through some nasty stuff last night. I know the Marlins aren't leaving town after tonight so that changes the equation, but people are realizing that if these players can play through what they played through last night, they'll play tonight and beyond. I can't see tonight being any worse.

They'll play until the arc paddles through second base (and crashes into Ricardo Rincon's locker ... I don't even know what that means.)
