Penthouse View

Yeah, I could get used to this.

Umm, on your hate list, I have it on authority (being Chris Russo) that his name is Shawn Victorini.

You left out Jason Werth. He gets my vote. Werth is the new Burrell.

I was at the game yesterday, and it was great fun. Strange with all the philly people there, but since I see most of my Mets games in Philly, I can't complain.

Just curious, but why is Mr. Thin (Delgado) holding a bat that says 17 on it? That might be something to send in to Uniwatch.

Might wanna add Larry Anderson to the hate list Metstra.
Larry said Jose should "take one in the neck" for his home run trot the other night.

Delgado is looking more and more like Pedro Cerrano after Tanaka called him out for not having any balls.

Larry Anderson wants Jose to get one in the neck, huh, then I'll just have to punch him right in his brain.

Let's hope the team has Reyes's back - expect something to happen during the next Philly series.

Rollins . . . what the hell? He decided to drive to the game while on the road, in lieu of taking the team bus, which supposedly left minutes earlier? Does he like driving in NYC? I'm not buying this - something's up there.

Thank you, I just found the Andersen thing. Does that mean the Mets can put one in Victorino's neck for standing on the plate and clapping at the Mets dugout?

Unbelievable.

Bwaahahaha! Mutt$ fans are in first place for a day! Why not have a parade down 6th avenue?

You losers make me laugh. The real new york team measures success with CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

Oh and have you noticed which NY team has won ten in a row in the VARSITY league?

hehehe. losers.

I believe your referring to the Yankees 6 game winning streak. Hey your a Yankee fan I shouldn't expect you to be able to count.

guy must be off his meds. Varsity league? Good for you. How does 3rd place look?

It is amusing how little (read NONE) attention this received.
But you and I know damn well that had a Met done that at CBP, he would have been the top story on BBTN for 3 days straight.
Since the Phils are the latest apple of ESPN's eye, they can do whatever they want.

I'm kinda pissed that Shane was not paid back for that. You do not come into our house and pull that stuff, then proceed to cry about Jose celebrating a HR (one that broke a tie btw).

My hate for the Philth is now greater than that for the Braves.

please don't feed the trolls.

Ed,

I'm sure part of it was that when Victorino did what he did, the focus of the Mets announcers was on the actual play, while of course the Phillies announcers would never call their buddy on the carpet for that. The only place I saw mention that was Metsblog.

The other prong is that the Mets just don't throw inside enough and haven't done that in decades. Myers was going up and in on Mets hitters all night on Tuesday, and after Santana being pitched tight on Monday, you would think that the Mets would have retaliated. But that's just not something Maine has in his arsenal, or if he does he chooses not to use it. As little as I think of Myers, what he did was part of the game. I really wish the Mets would to it.

Did anyone else see any negative coverage on the Reyes finger point during the home run besides Andersen?

Philly (and former Met) radio announcer Tom McCarthy apparently said something about it. See http://www.magicmets.com/the-news/1-latest-news/477-phillies-broadcasters-out-to-kill-reyes.

If all the pain and suffering we Mets fans have gone through has not taught us anything else, it should at least free us from this crazy second-guessing about whether Jose is "showing up" opposing teams.

They do it to us - we'll do it to them! And absolutely no apologizing.

And isn't it funny that Metstradamus got so many comments from the India votive candle manufacturers on his post showing the candles? Maybe that helped in some weird cosmic way.

In my best third person explanation:

India loves Metstradamus like Germany loves David Hasselhoff.

The Mets' success seems linked to that of Delgado... hmm.

Damus - agree that this team needs to throw inside more. Pedro and others did it early in 2006, then stopped.
The team is hated already, let's give the opposition a real reason to do so.

Own the damn inside corner. Our guys get hit all the time it seems.

I'm not advocating head hunting, just inside, maybe in the small of the back, or the leg.
