LOL!

Because after Ryan Church misses third base on the go-ahead run in the 11th, and two errors in the bottom of the frame (one of which came on the double play ball that would have unbelievably gotten the game to the 12th) gives the Dodgers the game, what the hell else is there to do but laugh ... out ... loud?

I really hate f*&#ing baseball sometimes. I really do.

I was at this game. I have nnever in my life been more embarrassed to be seen and known as a Mets fan. This is the most embarrassing game ever in Mets history. This is the Mets equivalent of the Joe Pisarcik game. Heads need to roll.

That was certainly worth staying up for. For the life of me I can't remember the last time a player got called out for missing a baselike that.

I've been thinking about the Mets this morning. I could not stay up that late to watch the debacle, and I'm happy I didn't.

So they fix the bullpen, but leave the injury prone roster alone. So last night looked like a split squad spring training game. If it weren't for injury, I would think the rest of the team took the bus to Jupiter in the morning.

Still, it was a very winnable game. Redding kept them in the game and a timely hit by Sheffield tied it.

But still, they find a way to beat themselves. Have Pagan and Church forgotten the rules? Center fielder has priority. TOUCH third base on your way home.

Truth is, those jackasses from FOX on the Saturday game put the whammy on the Mets. They were GUSHING about how many "weapons" they had, how "dangerous" and "deep" the team was. I think last night disproved many of those points.

Marv Throneberry returns. Church is becoming a tragic figure, what with the concussions, the benchings and missing a base . . . TWICE in the same game. He missed first base earlier in the game on a pick off.

As we're learning, Delgado's absence not only creates a power gap in the in lineup, but also makes us error prone. I think Manuel has to go with Murphy and Tatis at first, no one else, until they make a trade (and I think they have to). Too many guys out of position.

BTW, at the game, when Sean Green came in, the Dodgers staff didnt notice and they left JJ Putz's name on the scoreboard and kept piling on his pitch count. After two batters, I called the Dodgers fanline and they fixed it, but they didnt retroactively fix the pitch count.

If the Mets can't run the bases, and they can't catch the ball, then they can't be playing baseball. What the heck are they playing?

Oh the insanity...as die hard as I am...(and I am an insane mets fan), it is a game like yesterday that makes me want to just run into a wall or use one of those devices from the movie men in black to forget the whole thing just happened...I mean seriosuly, does it only happen to the Mets??? Oh well, thats why there are 162 games....they will get it together (I hope...)

Just a brutal loss....

On the entertainment front you should do a blog on naming the bridge at Citi field. They want to name it after a Mets player.

Personally (and I want support on this) we as Mets fans need to vote it the Buckner Bridge, things go under a bridge, I think the metaphorical value is great. Plus its pretty much the signature moment in Mets history... Then you could have Mookie Wilson Way just by Buckner (Bridge) and here comes (the) night(pun).....Mets Win!

At least now Manuel has an excuse to have Church in his doghouse, which is where he seems to want to keep Church.

OK. Awful game. Bad karma all around. But what about Dem Latte Bums? Facing a Redding offa fat-boy rehab; six Mets playing out of position; a pseudo-shortstop arriving 20 minutes before gametime; a first baseman without a firstbase glove; a nonsuportive, schizoid manager named JManuel. And they still needed a gift run to beat the Mets in 11. I'm not an apologist, but if you told me it would be a tight game for 11 innings at 10pm, I'd say you were insane. Now Minaya has to stop wanking, get some pros out there, and win back the trust of his players by designating fielding positions for them. And Christ---OHudson and Ibanez could have been had for the cost of this year's X-rays...
