St. David's Day

How do you knock out two Carloses with one swing? Ask David Wright, who put all 50 states on his shoulders (including Hawaii, Victorino!) and brought them all to the semifinals of the World Baseball Extravaganza. Mere hours earlier, Davey Johnson threatened to forfeit this game if any more players got hurt. Simply put, David Wright has bailed out America. (Get it? Bail? Out? AIG? Oh, forget it.)

Still weird that Victorino and Derek Jeter were the first to greet him after the walk off hit (and did it look like to you that guys were secretly trying to sucker punch division rivals in that dogpile?) But a nice swing at a bad ball by David to make America victorious.

His truth is marching on ... to Los Angeles.

Where was that swing against Howry last September?

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I have to admit, even though I’m a third-generation American, in the 7th, I was rooting for Pedro Feliciano to strike out Derek Jeter and Jimmy Rollins. Those two will always be enemy combatants in my eyes.

Watching Wright, Jeter, Victorino and Youklis go nuts together was pretty wild. Worlds collide.

Is he sweating blood under his arm in that picture? Did Jeter dull his underarm razor again?

"Your People"...

What the hell was that comment for...? I only express the fact that I will root for my heritage in certain moments...this is not the Olympics when I am rooting for the U.S. Curling team to beat Canada. This is baseball where I was taught to idolize Roberto Clemente. So yeah, I got pissed that P.R. lost a two run lead in the ninth to the U.S. I will now get the pleasure of going to Chavez Ravine and root for the red, white and blue....
Don't make it more than it is...
