A Common Thread
Apparently, J.J. Putz left yesterday's game against Baltimore because of an irritated nail.
I wouldn't worry about this. Aaron Heilman used to leave games all the time with an irritated fan base. Somehow, he never missed any time because of it.
Speaking of fools, I've been on the computer now for about an hour, and I have not been in contact with any worms. And it's the last thing you need to worry about too. Think about it, if someone was going to infect our computers with a worm, you think they would announce it in advance?
On April 1st???
No. What I think you need to worry about is somebody telling you that Omar Minaya went and signed Gary Sheffield, or traded David Wright for Michael Bourn, or that Sports Illustrated went and predicted that the Mets would win the World Series.
Oh well. In any event, happy April 1st from your eternal April Fool, Metstradamus.

Speaking of fools... Fernando Nieve did not make the roster and Brian Schneider's fine.
BTW the roster now has only two bullpen holdovers from last year. (Three if you count six-game wonder Bobby Parnell.)
Why is Colin Cowherd on your list? Besides the fact that he is such a homer to the Pac-10?
Beezermess
I'm fully expecting a Jerry Manuel April fools quote "I've decided to bat Brian Schneider lead-off" before the end of the day.
btw, when are you going to add my blog to the blogroll? (www.ceetar.com/optimisticmetsfan)
speaking of sports illustrated... i love how the mets winning the world series is the fine print on the cover. meanwhile, it features a ginormous picture of cheeseburger cheeseburger sabathia and his 26 chins. there is no justice in this town...
Mac:
You know, I took great care in writing a long detailed post lambasting the signing of Fernando Nieve ... and they release him? Thanks for wasting my time.
Beezer:
General principle.
Ceetar:
How about now? All you need do is ask. (Because if you don't ask, my brain is too feeble to process the fact that you might have a blog. In other words, it's not you, it's me.)
15:
And that's not even a national cover. Sabathia's on all the covers, but that top line has six different versions. Some it's Manny, some it's Pedroia, some it's Morneau. It's all about what sells magazines. If SI could put the NFL on the cover every week they would.
:insert rodney dangerfield catchphrase here:
15, we haven't earned it. come october, i hope to see us there.
believe me, as a mets, jets, and knicks fan, i am eternally a sports pessimist and i completely agree with you. i'm not saying that this group of guys deserve respect for their recent achievements. i'm saying the mets could win 10 championships in a row and they would still be second fiddle to the yanks
