Hi Metsradamus- In all fairness Duquette didn't have total say in what went on at all.
I would evenventure to say that Duquette would have been a better GM than Omar had he been given a blank check and carte blanche the same way, he also got rid of some huge dead weight contracts while he was here.
I think Peterson, Leiter & Franco grabbed Wilpon's ear and that is what orchestrated Kazmir for Zambrano. I think if it was left up to Duquette hismelf it never would have happened.
minglet, I like Hidalgo but he's way too streaky for my taste.
Shari, I agree with you whole heartedly. Duquette, and Steve Phillips near the end of his reign were puppets. And I have to give the Wilpon family credit for coming to their senses by letting Minaya do his job. Better late than never, right?
Don't forget to throw in Matsui in that deal!
ReplyDeleteBenson, Diaz, Bannister for Tejada. Out the door, done!
ReplyDeleteThe metmaster stole my thunder ... Go Kaz Go!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Leo Mazonne can turn around Zambrano in ten minutes.
