From Orioles vice president, and the man who signed off on the Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano trade, Jim Duquette:

"You cannot give up young and affordable pitching."
Leave Flushing, find clue. Advance to Boardwalk.

Maybe Leo Mazonne can turn around Zambrano in ten minutes.

Hi Metsradamus- In all fairness Duquette didn't have total say in what went on at all.

I would evenventure to say that Duquette would have been a better GM than Omar had he been given a blank check and carte blanche the same way, he also got rid of some huge dead weight contracts while he was here.

I think Peterson, Leiter & Franco grabbed Wilpon's ear and that is what orchestrated Kazmir for Zambrano.
I think if it was left up to Duquette hismelf it never would have happened.

  6. minglet, I like Hidalgo but he's way too streaky for my taste.

Shari, I agree with you whole heartedly. Duquette, and Steve Phillips near the end of his reign were puppets. And I have to give the Wilpon family credit for coming to their senses by letting Minaya do his job. Better late than never, right?
